Who We Are

York University Development Corporation, on behalf of the University, The Planning Partnership and Greenberg Consultants are updating the Master Plan. In collaboration with the York University community student partners who provide insight into the needs of the student body.

The Planning Partnership is an award-winning collaboration of skilled professionals who share a vision for creating great places to live, work and play. They are multi-generational, multi-disciplinary and multi-national. Practicing landscape architecture, land use planning, policy planning and urban design, they create communities, buildings and spaces at all scales. They are innovators in transit-oriented development, sustainable community design, public realm design and revitalization strategies and have been the recipient of numerous local, provincial, national and international awards.

The Planning Partnership has assisted the University with the recently approved Secondary Plan and planning for the Pan Am Stadium. The firm is involved in a variety of groundbreaking projects, including the design of Front Street and the re-visioned John Street Cultural Corridor in Toronto, which was recently profiled in the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail. They also authored the master plan for the University of the Ontario Institute of Technology, the public realm plan for the West Don Lands, and a master plan for the Toronto Entertainment District.

Ken Greenberg is an architect, urban designer, teacher, writer, former Director of Urban Design and Architecture for the City of Toronto and Principal of Greenberg Consultants. For over three decades he has played a pivotal role on public and private assignments in urban settings throughout North America and Europe. Ken has authored master plans for Boston University and Ryerson University. Ken has recently been profiled in the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail and Toronto Sun for his bold new plan for transforming Yonge Street between Dundas and Gerrard Streets.

Ken is the author of Walking Home: the Life and Lessons of a City Builder, published by Random House. In the book, he shares his passion and methods for rejuvenating neglected cities and argues passionately for the importance and possibilities of their renewal.
